Inauguration Protests and Marches: PDX

I've just recently gotten into photojournalism. With all of the protests and marches going on during this election season, I thought I'd try my hand at it. I went to Portland, OR to shoot photos of the action down there for the inauguration protests on Friday, January 20th, and the women's march on Saturday, January 21st. Let me tell you, I LOVED it! Where we took pictures on Friday, there wasn't much going on so we were safe, but there was still tension in the air left over from the earlier protests. Saturday, the Portland Police said there were 100,000 people in attendance, the biggest Portland march ever, and it was 100% peaceful. It was so cool to be amongst such energy and unified passion. These couple days were a great first, and certainly not last, experience.

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to voice my political opinion with these photos. I photographed the events to share what took place with those who were not in attendance.
